Day5
Week30
2 Samuel
“He passed through all of the tribes of Israel toward Abel of Beth-maacah, also passing by all of the Bichrites. Once assembled, they also came after him. They came and besieged him in Abel of Beth-maacah. They constructed a siege ramp against the city, standing it against the rampart. As all of the people who were with Joab were battering the city wall in order to bring it down, a wise woman called from the city, “Listen! Listen! Say to Joab, ‘Come closer so that I may speak with you.’ ” When he came near, the woman said, “Are you Joab?” He said, “I am.” She said to him, “Listen to the words of your servant,” and he said, “I’m listening.””

Wise Woman
As a woman, how would you like to be referred to as a wise woman?
This is a great compliment. Women are often unnamed in the Bible, and many are only identified in relation to men. For example, the mother of Solomon, Bathsheba, is not named.
Most women in this time period are not even considered and most of the time referred to by their husband’s name as ownership.
The woman in today’s lesson is not named at all, but her character is a testimony for all generations!
Would you rather be known for your name or your character?
God knows each one of us by name and by our character through the lens of the blood of Jesus.
Action Step
Allow God to develop your character by considering this Psalm.
Let the words of my mouth and the
meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

Whatever God brings to mind, talk to Him about it.
