Day5
Week32
2 Samuel
“Now afterwards there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob. Then Sibbekai the Hushathite struck down Saph, who was among the descendants of the giant. Once again, there was a battle with the Philistines at Gob. On this occasion, Elhanan the son of Jaare-Oregim the Bethlehemite struck down Goliath the Gittite, whose spear shaft was like a weaver’s beam. Once again, there was war at Gath. There was a man of stature who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number. Now he also was born to the giant. When he taunted Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimeah, the brother of David, struck him down. Now these four were born to the giant in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.”

They Just Keep Coming
Has life taken you for a roller coaster ride of trials and left you wondering why they just keep coming?
David killed Goliath. End of story, right? Not quite like in the children’s book. The giant had brothers and grandkids…you get the point.
Jesus crushed the head of the snake and won back dominion over earth.
Are you thinking,”if He has dominion, then why am I struggling?”?
The answer is that He is reigning in heaven and gave us all power and authority over the enemy.
What?🤦🏽♀️
Yes! We have everything we need through Holy Spirit, The Word and prayer.
““Pray then in this manner:
Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven…
-If it was up to Him, why would He ask us to pray for His will to be done on earth?
…Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors…
-Are we forgiving others?
..And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one…
Sounds like He knew that they just keep coming and that we would need to pray and use the weapons He gave us.
…For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
Matthew 6:9-13 MEV
Again, the theme is for us to ask. Prayer is conversation and communion with God in Jesus name. Jesus restored our relationship with the Father. We can walk with, talk with, and hang out with our Heavenly Father and best of all, Jesus gave us His name to ask in.
Action Step
Talk to your Father
God, I pray against all the distractions of the enemy. I know that true joy and satisfaction can only be found in You— the giver of lite. Help me as I face daily attacks on my time, attention, and energy. Empty my life of any lies and false securities. I trust Your way. In Jesus' name, Amen.
This Weeks Memory Seed From Psalms:
“The words of the LORD are pure words: As silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”
