Day4
Week32
2 Samuel
“Now once again there was a battle between the Philistines and Israel. So David went down and his servants with him to fight the Philistines, and David grew weary. Now Ishbi-benob, who was among the descendants of the giant, whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of bronze, and who was armed with new weaponry, had said that he would strike David down. But Abishai the son of Zeruiah came to his aid. He struck down the Philistine and killed him. Then the men of David made an oath with him, saying, “You shall no longer come out with us to battle, so that you do not extinguish the lamp of Israel.””
2 Samuel 21:15-17 MEV

New Weapons
Did you know that the enemy of our soul has no new weapons?
John 10:10: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;”
This is his purpose and his methods are lies, fear, confusion and distraction. Just like David faced a different giant, we face different challenges. The weapon may appear new, but even in David’s case, it was still a sword.
John 10:10 continues- (Jesus speaking) “I came that they may have life and have it in abundance"
Jesus conquered death, hell and the grave! The sword of the enemy has been destroyed!
1 Corinthians 15:55-58
"O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”
Revelation 1:18
"I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death”
Colossians 2:15
"He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him”
John 11:25-26
"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies. And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die.”
We have been given new weapons!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Just like when David was weak in battle and another came to his rescue, we have been given Holy Spirit to fight for us.
Jesus also gave us His name which is above every name to use as power of attorney.
The weapons of our warfare are mighty! (See Ephesians 6)
According to the Bible, some spiritual weapons include:
Prayer: A common form of spiritual warfare that gives access to God's power.
The Word of God: A spiritual weapon that can be used to destroy the resistance of God's enemies
Truth: A spiritual weapon used in the battle between the Spirit of God and Satan Righteousness: A spiritual weapon used in the battle between the Spirit of God and Satan The Gospel: A spiritual weapon used in the battle between the Spirit of God and Satan
Faith: A spiritual weapon used in the battle between the Spirit of God and Satan The hope of salvation: A spiritual weapon used in the battle between the Spirit of God and Satan
Some Bible verses about spiritual warfare include:
2 Corinthians 10:3-4, and Daniel 10:13.
We have also been given the weapon of fellowship with other believers.
Since we now know that the enemy has no new weapons, we must arm ourselves with the weapons we have access to so we don’t fall for his lies, fear, confusion and distractions.
