Who's Authority

Day2

Week2

Hebrews 2

“For God will not place the coming world, of which we speak, under the government of angels. But the Scriptures affirm: What is man that you would even think about him, or care about Adam’s race. You made him lower than the angels for a little while. You placed your glory and honor upon his head as a crown. And you have given him dominion over the works of your hands, For you have placed everything under his authority. This means that God has left nothing outside the control of his Son, even if presently we have yet to see this accomplished.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭2‬:‭5‬-‭8‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Who’s Authority

Subdue: to bring under control especially by an exertion of the will.

Dominion: law : supreme authority.

Go back to Genesis. Remember that God does not change.

God gave Adam an assignment to subdue and he gave him authority to have dominion over every living thing on earth.

Who’s authority was Adam given?

He was given God’s authority or God’s power to rule.

Just because Adam gave up his authority doesn’t mean that God rescinded it.

He did not!

Adam had a legal right to rule, but he gave it up by his own choice to desire knowledge over obedience.

God sent His Son Jesus to live as a human and experience everything we experience, so that He would conquer death and take back the authority or dominion that Adam willingly gave away.

The best or most astonishing part is that Jesus gave it back to us!

When we receive Him as Savior and Lord, He gives us back the original assignment that was given to Adam.

Subdue and take authority over the power of the enemy.

By who’s authority?

In the most powerful name

of Jesus! The Lord of all!

But I don’t feel like I have power.

We walk by faith and not by feelings.

By faith you have been saved by grace.

The same faith that you used to accept Jesus as Lord is all you need to accept the authority that He placed in your hands and put in your mouth!

Action Step

Thank God for your salvation.

Take your place of authority over your circumstances by searching for a scripture to stand on and start speaking it as if you believe it to be true.

In Jesus name, I have what He says I have!

I am healed, I am whole, I am prosperous, I am loved….

Find a scripture!
