What’s Missing
Stating the obvious is a somewhat strange tactic used by Saul in today’s verse. What’s missing here is nothing new for Saul. He is filled with pride and plagued with foolishness.
Did you sense any tone of humility or repentance in his statement?
Those two ingredients are what’s missing most often when we press into our mistakes rather than pressing into the mercy of God that can only be found in repentance.
Saying the right thing and doing the right thing are not the same.
After this, David remained in an foreign enemy land hiding from Saul until after Saul’s death.
Clearly Saul didn’t turn to God or honor David.

Take a few monents and pause. Slow down and pray.
Ask God to show you what’s missing for you.
Hint: humility is a great place to start.
