Day1
Week3
Hebrews 3
“Therefore, holy brothers, partakers in a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Jesus Christ, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses was faithful in all His house. For the One was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, in that He who builds the house has more honor than the house itself. For every house is built by someone, but the One who builds all things is God.”

What Is Your Profession?
Do not be confused. We are not talking about what you do for a living or even a hobby.
The Greek word for profession here is;
homologeo, which means “ confession,” or “to say the same thing.”
Jesus was appointed by God as High Priest of our words—our profession ( what we profess out of our mouth) or confession of faith.
As long as you and I are saying what Jesus says, God has sent and anointed Him to be High Priest over His Word in our mouths.
Some translations include fastening our thoughts fully on Jesus or think carefully about, attentively consider…
It has been said that what we think about we bring about.
I have found that to be true because what we think about is usually what comes out of our mouths and becomes our profession or confession.
So I ask you again, “What is your profession?”
When we confess faith, say what Jesus said, then we can have confidence that Jesus watches over His Word to perform it! (Jeremiah 1:12)
We read in week 1 (Hebrews1:14) that angels are ministering spirits sent out in the service of God for the assistance of those who are to inherit salvation.
A High Priest brings into effect or causes to happen.
Let’s give our High Priest some faith filled words to work with!
Action Step
Do a self-audit of what is coming out of your mouth.
Don’t worry about others. Believe me, we all will be quite busy minding our own mouths.
