Weep As You Go

Day2

Week23

2 Samuel

“The king also said to Zadok the priest, “Are you not a seer? Return to the city in peace with your two sons, your son Ahimaaz and Jonathan the son of Abiathar. I will wait at the fords of the wilderness until word from you comes to inform me.” So Zadok and Abiathar returned the ark of God to Jerusalem, and they remained there. David went up the ascent of the Mount of Olives, weeping as he went. His head was covered and he went barefoot. Then all of the people who were with him each covered his head and went up, weeping as they went.”

‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭15‬:‭27‬-‭30‬ ‭MEV‬‬

Weep As You Go

Bad things happen to everyone. Jesus never said that we would not have trouble. He said that He would be with us in times of trouble.

It is alright to weep when bad things happen, even when we bring them on ourselves. God is merciful and He will help us again and again and again….

The Key is to keep asking Him and even in your sorrow do not quit, but weep as you go to Him.

It is never a good thing to wallow in self pity or pride. We should never run from God, but run to His open arms and receive comfort and sometimes rebuke, but always love.

Action Step

Are you in a season of frustration maybe weeping from exhaustion or disappointment?

Run to your Father and pray:

God, only You determine my worth and my value.

You have given me the ability to work and to do it well—so when I feel overwhelmed, burnt out, frustrated, or uninspired, please help me to stay tocused on You. Remind me that You are the One I work for. You are the One who gives me a future and a hope. In Jesus' name, Amen.
