Love Is Our Weapon

Day2

1 Samuel 19

Week33

“War broke out again after that, and David led his troops against the Philistines. He attacked them with such fury that they all ran away. But one day when Saul was sitting at home, with spear in hand, the tormenting spirit from the Lord suddenly came upon him again. As David played his harp, Saul hurled his spear at David. But David dodged out of the way, and leaving the spear stuck in the wall, he fled and escaped into the night.”

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭19‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Weapons

Have you ever been going along, minding your own business, doing exactly what you’re supposed to do and suddenly everything falls apart right in front of you?

David’s boss just tried to kill him!

I don’t know about you, but no one has ever tried to kill me, much less my boss.

We seem to think that if we do all the right stuff and serve God with all our hearts that somehow it will be all lollipops and rainbows.

Living a life honoring God is done because we love Him.

This world is still corrupt and under the rule of the devil.

While in this world, time and chance happen to us all.

Becoming a Christ follower doesn’t make this world go away. In fact, it puts a target on your back for the enemy.

The advantage we have is that we have access to the full armor of God and the power of the greatest name ever! The name of Jesus!

The problem is that most never pick up the Word and learn to use it.

The weapons of our warfare are mighty!

The battle is in the spirit realm and our weapons are to fight there, not each other.

Pretending there is no battle will not make it any less true or your life any easier.

Peace doesn’t come from the absence of a battle.

It comes from God. The peace that passes all understanding… this peace transcends everything no matter what you are facing. It is part of your armor.

The sandals of peace.

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings good news of happiness, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!””

‭‭This peace comes from sharing the good news of the Gospel of Jesus!

Again, I remind you, open your mouth and declare His goodness!
