Day1
Week 5
Hebrews 5
“For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to represent men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins. He is able to have compassion on the ignorant and on those who are wayward, for he himself is also subject to weakness. Because of this he must offer sacrifices for his own sins, just as he does for the people. No man takes this honor for himself, but he who is called by God receives it, just as Aaron did. So also Christ did not glorify Himself to be made a High Priest, but it was He who said to Him: “You are My Son; today I have become Your Father.” As He also says in another place: “You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.””

Weakness Produces Compassion
Is there something that you are not particularly good at?
If you see someone struggling in that same area, do you feel compassion towards them?
It is easy to have compassion when we share a weakness.
Weakness produces compassion because we can empathize.
Jesus was The Word first before He became a son.
He knows what it is like to give up something for another and be unappreciated. He has compassion because he experienced our humanity.
We all have 3 parts just like God has 3 parts.
God - creator(brain) Us - mind, will and emotions (soul).
Jesus - The Word (power)
Us - physical body (strength)
Holy Spirit - life, breath (action, execution)
Us - spirit
God sent Jesus to earth in human form and became a Father, thus Jesus became a son.
The Word became a physical human body with all our weaknesses and humbled Himself or disconnected Himself from His rightful place of power and honor to become weak like us.
He has compassion for us because He endured every thing we will ever face.
He was reconnected to God the Father through His perfect sacrifice of suffering, death, resurrection and ascension.
Do you feel disconnected?
Maybe you have an idea and you talk about it, but something keeps you from doing it?
See it, Say it, Do it.
Is this not your experience?
Our spirit ( the doer or executor) has been disconnected because of sin.
Jesus made a way for us to be reconnected.
God the Father created the plan of salvation.
He sent Jesus, The Word in physical form who by obedience gave us power and He also sent His Spirit, the breath, the doer, the life giver to live inside of us, thus reconnecting us not only to our own individual spirit, but with God’s Spirit.
Action Step
Once you are born again, you are reconnected with God and with your true self. Your spirit.
Sometimes it is hard to operate with all three parts( spirit, soul and body) because we are so used to just body and mind.
The spirit or heart of a person is the truest part of who God made you. The doer.
Take some time in prayer and allow God to minister to you about this reconnection inside you.
