Day3
Week2
1 Samuel
“The next morning Elkanah and his family got up early, and after worshiping the Lord, they went back home to Ramah. Elkanah had intercourse with his wife Hannah, and the Lord answered her prayer. So it was that she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, and explained, “I asked the Lord for him.””

Waiting on the Promise
The fulfillment of Hannah’s promised son happens in just 2 verses.
This makes it seem like it was smooth sailing for Hannah.
Imagine what she most likely faced.
There was no early pregnancy test stick.
No ultrasound. She had never been pregnant before.
She just had to wait for the promise.
Do you think that her jealous agitator just stopped teasing her?
I can imagine Penninah saying, “Wow Hannah, you are getting fat, better watch it. You won’t be Elkanah’s favorite anymore! Ha-ha!”
Hannah could have thought, “Maybe I am just getting fat, I’m probably not pregnant. “
Hannah had many opportunities to doubt.
Are you waiting on a promise seemingly stuck in the middle?
Waiting is hard.
Hannah believed the Prophet.
She held onto the promise.
We know she did because we have the written Word to tell us that she received it.
Stand on the promises in God’s Word.
Focus on Jesus in the middle of waiting.
Do not seek the result, but seek Jesus.
Praise Him like you already have what you are waiting for!
Faith says, “I have it”, “I receive it”, “It’s mine”
Don’t wait for evidence. Your faith is the evidence!!!
What are you waiting for?
Praise Jesus!!!!
Action Step:
Thank God for what He has already done for you!
Now thank Him for what you are waiting for.
Praise Him like you are holding it in your hand now. Jump up and down, shout, and dance before the Lord! You have victory!!
