Day2
Week14
1Samuel 9
“As they went up the hill to the city, they found young women going out to draw water and said to them, “Is the seer here?” And they answered them and said, “He is. See, he is ahead of you. Hurry now, for today he came to the city, because there is a sacrifice for the people in the high place today. As soon as you come into the city, you will find him before he goes up to the high place to eat. For the people will not eat until he comes, because he must bless the sacrifice. Afterwards those invited will eat. Now therefore, go up, for about this time of the day you will find him there.””

Twice
Are you someone who has initiative?
Are you usually the first to act?
I am noticing a pattern in Saul’s life.
Remember that his father had to tell him to get up and go look for the lost donkeys.
His servant had to encourage him to give it one more try.
Now he is standing at the well and the woman tell him to hurry now. Apparently he isn’t convinced because he stands there for more details and they tell him again “Go now”.
They told him twice.
It seems Saul lacks ambition and motivation.
Maybe he lacks self confidence and is filled with fear.
What about you?
Do you have to be told twice?
Do you take action on your own or do you have to be told what to do?
When God directs you, do you ask for a sign or do you move forward?
It is easy to read about Saul and judge his actions.
It is much harder to look in the mirror
Action Step
Practice hearing from God in the tiny things throughout your day.
Ask Him simple questions like what shirt should I wear?
The first thing that comes to your mind, do it now. Wear that one!
Does that seem silly?
God will direct you and teach you at the level you are at.
If you don’t trust Him to pick out a shirt, how will you trust Him to direct your life?
Don’t make Him tell you twice.
Delayed Obedience is still Disobedience.
Just Do It!
