Day1
Week16
2 Samuel
“Joab sent word to inform David of all of the events of the battle. He instructed the messenger, “When you finish telling the king all the details of the battle, if his anger rises and he says to you, ‘Why did you approach so near to the city? Did you not know that they might shoot from the city wall? Who killed Abimelech the son of Jerub-Besheth? Did not a woman throw an upper millstone on him from the city wall so that he died at Thebez? Why did you approach so near to the city wall?’ You shall then say, ‘Additionally your servant Uriah the Hittite is dead.’ ””
2 Samuel 11:18-21 MEV

Turn The Tables
Do you know someone who is very good at shifting blame or can skillfully turn the tables of a conversation to manipulate the narrative to favor their agenda?
Joab was no stranger to a calculated distraction at the opportune time to escape trouble. He was not only a wise commander, but a savvy politician as well.
The enemy of our souls will not hesitate to turn the tables on us so that we are deceived into thinking that the truth is a lie and a lie is the truth.
Joab could have used his skills to save Uriahs life, knowing he was a man of integrity and a valuable soldier, but Joab feared David more than he feared God.
Jesus also was known to turn the tables a time or two, but He turned them for good and not for evil.
Whatever gifts you have, you also have a choice to use them for good or evil. Be careful to recognize the difference.
Action Step

Psalms 18:30 MEV
Will you trust in Him and take refuge in Him, today?
