Too Good To Be True
Have you ever gotten caught up in something that turned out to be a scam?
What about a less than ideal situation where you knew it wasn’t exactly on the up and up, but you did it anyway thinking that no one would know? Maybe accepting payment under the table, or telling a white lie to your boss.
If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
Paltiel was given another man’s wife as a political pawn.
Apparently he fell in love with her even though he had no right to accept and marry her.
Have you ever lusted over a Hollywood movie star or a good looking co-worker?
I’m sure we all have, but did you ever consider that that person belongs to God.
We have all been caught up in sin and it seems good at the time, but when the bill comes due, we cannot pay for it.
What is, in fact, too good to be true is Jesus! He paid our debt in full and He is ready to rescue us every single time we need Him to.
David’s wife, Michal risked her life so that he could flee from her father, Saul. Now God, in His sovereignty, is restoring her to her husband, whom she loves.
A picture of Jesus. He gave up His life so that we could flee from sin and now God is restoring Him to us, whom He loves.
Action Step
The Bible is full of messy situations.
If we keep our hearts soft and open, we will find Jesus in every messy Word.
”Who among you by taking thought can add a cubit to his stature?“
Matthew 6:27 MEV
What sort of thoughts are you allowing to take up space in your mind?
Make a list of what’s bothering you right now, and talk to God about what’s on that list.
