Day3
Week 8
1 Samuel
“So they sent and gathered all the Lords of the Philistines unto them, and said, “What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel?” And they answered, “Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried around to Gath.” And they carried the ark of the God of Israel there. It happened that after they had carried it about, the hand of the Lord was against the city with a very great destruction. And He struck the men of the city, both small and great. And tumors broke out on them.”
1 Samuel 5:8-9 MEV

Backwards
Have you ever felt like your just spinning your wheels?
Maybe you have tried everything you know to do and nothing seems to change, in fact it looks worse!
The Philistines were trying to carry the Ark of the Covenant around in every direction, but it made things worse.
Something is backwards.
Just like the Philistines were not meant to carry the Ark, we are not meant to carry our problems.
This is backwards!
God made a blood covenant with us through Jesus.
He has promised to carry us and every concern we could ever think of.
1 Peter 5:6-7
“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may lift you up at the appropriate time. Cast all your worries on Him, for He cares for you.”
Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and ‘you will find rest for your souls.’ For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.””
Why is this concept so hard for us?
Action Step
Set a timer for 5 minutes.
Write down all your concerns.
You have just made a “Honey Do List” for God.
Pray and give Him your list.
To help you let go, try crumpling it up and tossing it in the trash.
Release it!
Now it’s not backwards!
