Psalm 22:11

Therefore

Every time I see this word in scripture I am reminded of a description that I heard once and it makes me giggle, but it works. So this is what I heard, “When you come to the word , therefore in scripture, stop and see what it’s there for.” Hee, hee

This verse tells us that God brought down or humbled their hearts with hard labor or difficult circumstances.

Does it say that God made them sick or even that God caused their suffering?

No. It says He used hard labor. The previous verse from yesterday tells us that they rebelled against His Word. That means they heard His Word and did not believe it and consequently did not do it.

Disobedience opens a door for the accuser , the devil to come in with afflictions of all kinds.

When we rebel, not doing what we know to do or doing things in our own strength; God has no choice, but to stand by and watch us struggle. Therefore, We flop around like a fish out of water in hard circumstances that most of the time could be avoided if we seek Him and listen to Him. God does not sit in Heaven looking down on us waiting for an opportunity to zap us like little pesky flies. He is the lifter of our heads, the restorer of life!

His ways lead to victory. He picks us up with His own hands like a father lifts his child and lifts us out of harm and looks up at us with a big smile.

God loves us and He does allow hard circumstances, but He doesn’t bring the trouble. Psalm 22:11 reminds us that He is close to us in times of trouble. When we feel the farthest away from God, He is right there waiting for us to call on Him. His will is for us to live from victory to victory.

Seek Him, not an answer.

Hunger and thirst for Him, a relationship, and the answer will be found in His love for you.

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you any area that you may be disobedient in. Respond quickly to avoid any cracks in your armor.

Trouble comes to us all, but the hard labor is man’s way out. God is looking for those with an obedient heart. His ways are higher than ours. His ways are ultimately easier too
