Day2
Week 14
Hebrews 11
”By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a time. He esteemed the reproach of Christ as greater riches than the treasures in Egypt, for he looked to the reward.“

The Reward
Have you ever received a reward?
Maybe you trained for a race and you received the reward medal for crossing the finish line or for winning the race.
It could be that you received the reward for finding something that was lost or stolen.
Maybe as a child you received a reward for good behavior or good grades.
We all like rewards, don’t we?
Moses gave up his lush life as prince of Egypt to obtain a greater reward found only in a personal relationship with God.
Looking forward to this ultimate reward has been the foundational incentive for all the heroes of faith.
The reward is obtained after the race is finished, but there are many benefits along the way as we develop our relationship with our Father and Savior.
Our forefathers in faith did not have an easy road.
How much more should we be willing to endure having already received the free gift of salvation in Christ Jesus.
Focus on the reward and not on the race. It is much easier to run with your eyes up and your heart in union with your Creator.
Action Step
Spend a few moments praising God for your salvation.
Sing a song or listen to a song of praise and rejoice with Him.
