The Kings Table

A formal setting on a table.
The Kings Table

Day4

Week13

2 Samuel

“The king summoned Ziba the servant of Saul, and he said to him, “All that belonged to Saul and to all his house, I have given to the son of your master. You will work the ground for him—you, your sons, and your servants. You will bring in the produce so that the son of your master will have food to eat; but Mephibosheth, the son of your master, will always eat at my table.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants. Ziba said to the king, “Everything that my Lord the king has commanded his servant, your servant will do.” So Mephibosheth ate at the table of David like one of the sons of the king. Now Mephibosheth had a young son whose name was Mika, and all who dwelled in the house of Ziba were servants to Mephibosheth. So Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, because he ate continually at the table of the king. Now he was lame in both of his feet.”

The Kings Table

Have you ever sat at a prestigious table or been seated in a place of honor?

“You prepare a table for me, even as my enemies watch; you anoint my head with oil from an overflowing cup.”

‭‭Psalm 23‬:‭5‬ ‭CJB‬‬

The thing about being seated at a table is that you are only visible from the chest up. Hold your head high, sit up straight and no one knows what is under the table.

Mephibosheth may have felt like he was worthless, but David gave him a place of honor and dignity. His lame feet and lame past were no longer visible at the table.

Jesus gave each of us a seat at His table where we can all sit up straight and hold our head high. Our past, however lame or shameful it was, no longer matters! Our head has been anointed by the King!

If you feel less than, take a seat at the King’s table and be filled with His strength and honor.

Remember, …”As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring good news of good things!””

‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭15‬ ‭MEV‬‬

Action Step

How do you see yourself today?

We can choose to look through the enemies glasses and see how our past mistakes have crippled our feet or we can pull up a chair to our Saviors table, drink the cup of His blood and use our beautiful feet to spread His Gospel to those in our path.
