Day2
Week20
2 Samuel
““So now I have come to speak to my Lord the king about this matter because the people have made me afraid. So, I thought, ‘I will speak to the king. Perhaps the king will perform the request of his servant. For the king may accept my request to deliver his servant from the hand of the man who would destroy me and my son from the inheritance of God.’ “So, your servant thought, ‘May the word of my Lord the king provide rest. For like the angel of God, my Lord the king discerns good from evil. May the Lord your God be with you.’ ””
2 Samuel 14:15-17 MEV

The Difference
Can you discern between good and evil?
I’m sure we all would like to say yes to that question, but if we are honest, we all have been fooled at least a few times by our emotions or our eyes.
The reason David had this gift is because of his close relationship with God. He wasn’t perfect, but he was dedicated to spending quality time with God. The evidence is in his writings throughout the Psalms.
Divine discernment is a gift from God. He gives it to those who ask and are faithful to seek Him.
Action Step
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally and without criticism, and it will be given to him.
JAMES 1:5 MEV
Talk to God about what you need. Then, consider adding those things to your prayer list.
Be still and listen with your heart wide open.
