1Samuel 15
“And Saul said to Samuel, “I have obeyed the voice of the Lord. And I have followed in the way which the Lord sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. But the people took from the plunder sheep and oxen, the first fruits of the banned things to sacrifice to the Lord your God in Gilgal.””

The Blame Game
Have you ever immediately pointed the finger at someone else to make your sins look less important?
Excuses don’t work with God.
Samuel laid out specific guidelines for Saul and Saul disobeyed.
He had a logical explanation for his choices, however God does not use man’s logic. In fact man’s wisdom is foolishness to God.
Saul had no problem throwing the people he was supposed to lead under the bus.
Can you think of a time that you threw someone under the bus to save yourself?
Can you remember a time that you tweaked God’s instructions to fit into your life instead of following exactly what He told you?
Maybe you told someone else’s business with the excuse to pray for them or maybe you told a coarse joke to fit in or maybe you looked a little too long at the cute guy at work or maybe you admired someone else’s blessings a bit more than you should’ve and now you are jealous?
Action Step
Examine yourself and ask Holy Spirit to reveal any area that needs Jesus.
