“Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a shield, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have reviled. This day will the Lord deliver you into my hand. And I will strike you down and cut off your head. Then I will give the corpses of the Philistine camp this day to the birds of the air and to the beasts of the earth so that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And then all this assembly will know that it is not by sword and spear that the Lord saves. For the battle belongs to the Lord, and He will give you into our hands.””

Talk Before You Walk
This scene reminds me of a Marvel movie where the villain and the hero face off and they talk smack to each other.
I have thought often while watching that they should just just shut up and fight. I feel like that pause gives the enemy time to regroup.
According to the Word of God we are to speak of things that are not as though it already has happened.(Romans 4:17)
Talk before you walk. Declare God’s promises out loud before you move in a situation.
David did just that. You may be thinking that he was just boasting, however the evidence suggests that everything he said came to pass.
David did not go into battle silently. He did not go for selfish reasons. He went to face his giant in the name of the Lord and so that the Lord would get the glory.
Are facing a giant, impossible situation?
What are you talking about?
How will what you are saying bring God glory?
Action Step
Your giant needs to hear you boldly declare your victory in the mighty name of Jesus!
Romans 10:9 explains it!
Start talking the talk and then God will walk the walk with you!
See it in your mind, say it with your mouth and believe it in your heart.
God will provide the victory!
