Day5
Week19
1Samuel 13
“When the Israelites saw that they were way outnumbered and in deep trouble, they ran for cover, hiding in caves and pits, ravines and brambles and cisterns—wherever. They retreated across the Jordan River, refugees fleeing to the country of Gad and Gilead. But Saul held his ground in Gilgal, his soldiers still with him but scared to death. He waited seven days, the time set by Samuel. Samuel failed to show up at Gilgal, and the soldiers were slipping away, right and left. So Saul took charge: “Bring me the burnt offering and the peace offerings!” He went ahead and sacrificed the burnt offering. No sooner had he done it than Samuel showed up! Saul greeted him.”

Take Charge
How many times have you taken matters into your own hands while waiting on God to show up?
It seemed like the right thing to do…surely God doesn’t want me to do nothing! God does for those who do for themselves, right?
I haven’t found that reasoning in the Bible. Have you?
Google it. Those are not scriptures!
Remember how the enemy twists and perverts the truth?
God’s ways are not our ways.
Prayer is preparation. Meditating on God’s promises and confessing God’s faithfulness over your life is action.
Listening to faith filled preaching is building up your faith.
Faith in myself to take charge of the situation?
NO!
Faith in God to stand on His promises no matter what the circumstances look like.
Faith to hear God’s instructions in your circumstances and act on that, not your own understanding.
Action Step
“But Moses said to the people, “Fear not! Stand firm! And see the salvation of the Lord, which He will show you today. For the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you shall never see again. The Lord shall fight for you, while you hold your peace.” The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry out to Me? Speak to the children of Israel, so that they go forward. And as for you, lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it; then the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.”
Exodus 14:13-16 MEV
God’s instructions are not necessarily reasonable to man, but nevertheless His ways are always successful!
God commanded Moses to write about his experiences “for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it” to Joshua (Exodus 17:14). Similarly, recording your spiritual experiences will help you and your loved ones remember the Lord’s goodness.
