Storehouse Of Courage
How do you react when the storm sirens go off?
What about the news reports of happenings around and in Israel?
The news of Abner’s murder was no doubt a surprise and great loss for team Saul, but the fact that all of Israel was disheartened is a clue as to where they stored up their courage.
If you are placing your trust in man, you will also be disheartened easily.
Do you have a storehouse of courage?
It is easy for us to sit back and read the recount of events and judge them for their lack of faith in God, but consider your own life experiences.
Is your faith in God alone, no matter what your circumstances?
How would you react to your husband’s murder or your pastor or our president?
We have been given an incredible opportunity to build up our faith in God by storing up His word in our hearts, spending time in His presence and talking to others about Him and what He has already done for us.
These faith exercises are how we obtain a storehouse of courage, not based on our ability or any person’s ability, but based on Jesus Christ.
Action Step
What have you placed in your storehouse today?
”If you remain in Me, and My words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it shall be done for you.“
John 15:7 MEV
Close your eyes and imagine you’re sitting next to Jesus. What is He doing?
As you imagine this, think about what is going on in your life right now.
Share your concerns with Jesus and picture His response.
