Day1 Week4 2 Samuel
”But Joab and Abishai pursued Abner. As the sun was setting, they came to the hill of Ammah, which is next to Giah on the way to the Wilderness of Gibeon. The sons of Benjamin gathered to the rear of Abner into a single formation, and they took their stand atop one of the hills.“

Stand Off
Have your emotions ever got the best of you causing you to make a less than wise decision?
Joab and his brother Abishai are stricken with grief from the death of their brother Asahel.
Grief can be tricky. One of the first stages of grief is blaming. In hindsight sight we can clearly see that Asahel caused his own death by foolishly pursuing Abner on his own. He was given plenty of chances to turn back, but left Abner no choice, but to defend himself.
Nevertheless, Joab and Abishai can’t see it through the lens of grief. They blame Abner for their brothers' death.
Revenge, anger and pride do not make good leaders and so we have a stand off.
Joab and David’s men have already won the earlier battle and it was bloody. The sun is beginning to set and they do not have night vision goggles.
Can anyone else see that this is going to end badly?
Are you in an emotional stand off with someone?
Perhaps a disagreement with a loved one, friend or co- worker?
