Day4
Week4
Hebrews4
“So then we must be eager to experience this faith-rest life, so that no one falls short by following the same pattern of doubt and unbelief. For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy, like a two-mouthed sword. It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet! It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts. There is not one person who can hide their thoughts from God, for nothing that we do remains a secret, and nothing created is concealed, but everything is exposed and defenseless before his eyes, to whom we must render an account.”

Spirit And Soul
Why is it important to know the difference between spirit and soul?
It is because the heart or spirit is the real eternal you.
Your body was formed from dust, but your eternal spirit was infused with zoe-life( greek: uncreated, divine life )of God.
Your spirit, not your body or soul, is where the Holy Spirit takes up residence.
The spirit man is also called “the heart”.
It is with the heart or spirit that one believes (Romans 10:9-10), not with ones mind.
The soul, which is made up of the mind will and emotions, is the reasoning part of man.
This is the part that gets us into trouble.
This is where doubts and fear enter.
That is why God urges us as believers to be renewed in the spirit of our minds and that we put on a new nature. (Ephesians 4:24)
WE must be diligent to renew our minds daily with the Word of God, keeping it before our eyes, in our hearts, and in our mouths (Joshua 1:8).
God’s Word is the only power that can quench the fiery darts that come against our minds daily with doubt, unbelief, and fear. (Ephesians 6:16)
The spirit of man is the ground into which the seed of The Word of God is planted. That’s where faith grows to receive from God.
Your heart (spirit)was re-created in His image and filled with the force of His own faith when you accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.
It is by this force issuing from your heart that The Word, the incorruptible seed, brings forth fruit.
When you plant a promise from God’s Word into the soul of your heart by keeping it before your eyes, meditating, or thinking about it, day and night, believing you receive what it promises, and speaking it in faith out loud, the incorruptible seed of God’s Word begins to grow ( Mark 4:26-29).
Faith begins to increase in your heart and starts to reach into the unseen realm of the spirit to bring the answer into the seen realm (the physical world we live in).
The angels of God listen for the voice of His Word from your mouth as God’s covenant son or daughter and go forth to minister on behalf of that Word(Psalm 103:20; Hebrews 1:14).
Action Step
Take time to plant the seed of the Word of God into your soul (mind) and allow it to take root in your heart (spirit) today.
Choose a scripture or 2 that speak to your situation.
Meditate on it, speak it, water it daily with your faith, and watch it grow into a mighty harvest of what you are believing for!
