God created Adam a speaking spirit.

Hebrew-

ha’adam l’nefish kai’yah- speaking spirit

The enemy of our soul, the devil controls a mute, deaf spirit.

What a contrast!

We are created in the image and likeness of God, who creates with His words. He made us as the only part of His creation that is a speaking spirit.

Jesus said in v. 19, “O faithless generation, …”

It takes faith !

We have been given a powerful weapon. Our ability to hear and to speak.

Faith comes only by hearing, not by seeing!

Romans 10:17

Seeing does not require faith. If you can see it, then the evidence is proof. No faith is necessary.

When we hear God’s Word, our faith begins to come alive. When we speak God’s Word our faith takes action and grows.

As you speak, you are also hearing!

Who’s voice do you listen to and believe and trust more than any other?

The correct answer is your own. Weather inside your head or outside.

It is not hard to figure out why the enemy works so hard to control your thoughts and stop you from speaking or in most cases to compel you to say the wrong things.

This entire chapter is about the importance of faith and how powerful our faith is.
