Sit Here
This reminds me of a father instructing his kids to sit here, I have business to attend to.
The children sit and wait entertaining themselves any way they can until Dad comes back.
I imagine this wasn’t the first time Jesus said wait here while I go pray.
They may have thought, “This will take a while, anybody bring a game?”
Has God ever told you to sit and wait?
What did you do while waiting?
Biblically, waiting is an active verb indicating that “to wait” is to be aware through all of the senses of what is occurring around you and discerning the right time to do the next thing.
Spiritual waiting is like a runner at the starting line. On your mark, get set…..and you are waiting for the signal to go.
This is a preparation time. A time of expectation. The runner is in position and alert.
When you hear the starting signal, are you ready to run your race?
