Shut In

Day2

1Samuel 23

Week 38

“It was reported to Saul that David had come to Keilah. And Saul said, “God has delivered him into my hand. For he is shut in, by entering into a town that has gates and bars.” Then Saul summoned all the people together for war, to go down to Keilah to besiege David and his men.”

Shut In

Have you ever felt like you were surrounded or shut in? Maybe you were sick or isolated for a time. Maybe you struggle with depression or anxious thoughts causing you to feel like you are trapped behind bars and gates.

Maybe you actually were behind bars.

At one time we were all separated from God, shut in by our sins as though behind bars. We didn’t even know that we were surrounded and that there was an enemy closing in.

Thank God for His mercy!

During times of isolation or struggle, it can feel like we have been abandoned and even like there is no way out or no help.

The truth is that Jesus made a way of escape for all of us and He purchased us with His blood.

Call on Him and believe that He hears you and He wants to comfort you.

You are never alone.

Action Step

Take a moment and let go of any thoughts that may distract you.

Open your hands and take a deep breath in and imagine letting go as you exhale.

Invite God into your day and spend a few moments listening for His direction.

Thank Him that you are not alone.
