Second Chance

Day2

Week9

2 Samuel

”The ark of the Lord remained at the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite for three months, and the Lord blessed Obed-Edom and his entire household. When it was reported to King David, “The Lord has blessed Obed-Edom and everything that belongs to him, for the sake of the ark of God,” David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with rejoicing. When those who were carrying the ark of the Lord had taken six steps, David would sacrifice an ox and a fattened steer.“

‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬-‭13‬ ‭MEV‬‬

Second Chance

Oh! How we all can appreciate a second chance, right?

David wasn’t taking anything lightly this time. After only 6 steps, David had everyone stop and he then had an ox and a fattened steer sacrificed!

Some scholars interpret “only”for “every” 6 steps. Details matter to God.

The thing about a second chance with God is that He doesn’t hold your first try against you.

He casts our sins into the sea of forgetfulness and for His sake He blots them out and remembers them no more!

Micah 7:18-19, Isaiah 43:25, Hebrews 8:13.

That means that technically, every chance is a first chance with God because once we repent, He doesn’t remember it.
