Day5
Week 6
Hebrews 6
“Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils. Surely the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a command to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, from their brothers, though they also come from the seed of Abraham. But this man, whose descent is not numbered among them, received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises.”

Receive Blessing, Give Tithe
God’s ways are so very different from our ways.
Think about the principle of sowing and reaping. First you plant the seed and then you gather the harvest.
You reap what you sow, right?
Give and then receive.
Where did the seed come from?
God provides seed for the sower. 2 Corinthians 9:10.
God put seed in all the food in the garden of Eden. All the animals also were created with seed in them. He blessed first and asked for the tithe next.
Melchizedek blessed Abraham first and then Abraham offered the tithe.
The intended order is to receive blessing, give tithe.
God set things in motion for tithing. He gave us His Son , who reinstated the blessing covenant.
It starts with the blessing.
We must receive the blessing first before we can give. Without the blessing, we have nothing to offer.
The only way to have a tithe (10%) is to have been given something to start with.
We did not deserve salvation. We could never earn it. God simply loves us and blessed us.
Jesus is High Priest, not from a religious decent, but directly from God. He was the first fruit with seed in it. He gave His life (seed) and we are now the
Harvest. A Royal Priesthood giving the blessing, which we received freely, by sharing the Gospel.
The tithe (10%) is offered in thanksgiving.
Tithing- the act of offering the tithe to our High Priest, Jesus. It is done with our mouth.
Yes, the tithe is money. (10%) of your spoil, but the act of giving your tithe is not just writing out a check and tossing it in a basket.
Deuteronomy 26 gives specific and powerful instructions on what the tither (you) is to do and say before The Lord. It says to bring the firstfruits of your increase, put them in a basket, and take them before the priests. Then give thanks and worship Him.
Jesus is now our High Priest.
Each time we bring our tithe before The Lord, we are building up our faith in The Blessing and strengthening our faith in God’s provision (Genesis 26:4, Deuteronomy 28:1:4, Proverbs 10:22, Galatians 3:8).
Bring your tithe before The Lord, Jesus, before you ever get to church.
Action Step
Turn to Deuteronomy 26 and look at the commanded confessions there.
Ask me for a pdf of my personal tithing confession as an example.
Since Jesus is the High Priest over our confession, take your tithe in your hand, lift it before The Lord, and transfer the words in Deuteronomy 26 into the new covenant.
Fill your mouth with thanksgiving to the Father for what He has done for you in Jesus and His Word. Praise Him and Worship Him with Your tithe.
Say something like this, “Thank You God that the devourer is rebuked my sake! Thank you that the windows of heaven are open to me! I’m blessed!”
