Quench

Day4

1 Thessalonians 5:19-21

“Never restrain or put out the fire of the Holy Spirit. And don’t be one who scorns prophecies, but be faithful to examine them by putting them to the test, and afterward hold tightly to what has proven to be right.”

Quench

To quench the Spirit is to live with our own preferences rather than believing and living God's precepts.

It is easy to agree with this statement, but harder to practice it.

If we are honest, most or the time we are warring against our preferences and God’s.

Paul tells us here in v. 21 to examine all things.

We should be comparing our opinions with God’s Word everyday.

The Holy Spirit delights in us when we seek God and want to learn His ways.

Action Step:

List one thing or idea that you are undecided about.(you are unsure if it is right or wrong in God’s eyes)

Google scriptures on this subject and write them down.

Pray and ask God to give you understanding in this area.

Remember that God is a personal God, so what he shows you is for you and not meant to judge others.

Happy hunting!
