Purpose

I worked on Hebrews last week because I thought we would be starting Hebrews today.

God interrupted my plan and so we will be walking through how to implement what we learned last week as we complete our fast.

By now you have probably already done steps 1. Don’t rush in, and 2. Plan for what you will consume for our corporate fast.

If not get started.

We have already determined our corporate purpose.

Step 3 is all about making a list of your needs, deciding which one to focus on during your fast and searching for answers in God’s Word.

Our purpose is for Spiritual wisdom, revelation knowledge and direction for our group.

Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1 covers this very well, so I believe studying this during our fast is the direction that God is leading us.

As we purpose ourselves to pray for each other, giving thanks for our unique gifts and love for Jesus, our Heavenly Father gives us more by increasing the Spirit of wisdom and knowledge of Him.

Prayer is the path to understanding the will of God for our lives.

Action Step

As we go through our first day of fasting and prayer for each other, take time to read over the cross references for today and jot down a thought or two. Maybe just one word will stand out .

Write it down and think about it as you go through your day.

Praise God and thank Him for all He’s done for you and for each one of us

I used today’s recorded prayer for Step 4. Proclaim your fast.
