Proof In The Pudding

Day1

Week 15

Hebrews 11

”And what more can I say? Time is too short for me to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets, who by faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, quenched the raging of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, gained strength in weakness, became mighty in battle, and put foreign armies to flight.“

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭32‬-‭34‬ ‭CSB‬‬

Proof In The Pudding

Have you heard this expression before?

It is an old proverb. Originally it was, “The proof of the pudding is in the eating.”

The author of Hebrews has been reminding us of example after example of God’s faithfulness.

You could say that he has been serving up the pudding.

If we never step out in faith in our own circumstances, it is like leaving the pudding on the table untouched.

There is proof in the pudding, but looking at it or hearing about it won’t help you taste the evidence.

Taste and see that the Lord is good. Psalm 34:8.

Sure, faith comes by hearing and hearing, but faith without action is dead or ineffective.

Eat the pudding, step out of your comfort zone and move your faith from just hearing to obeying one tiny step at a time.

Action Step

What has God been nudging you to do?

Talk to a co-worker about Jesus…

Reach out to a neighbor…

Text a friend…

Talk to Him….

Eat some pudding!
