Day1
Week2
Hebrews 2
“This is why it is so crucial that we be all the more engaged and attentive to the truths that we have heard so that we do not drift off course. For if the message of the law spoken and confirmed by angels brought a just penalty to every disobedient violation; then how would we expect to escape punishment if we despise the very truths that give us life? The Lord himself was the first to announce these things, and those who heard him firsthand confirmed their accuracy. Then God added his witness to theirs. He validated their ministry with signs, astonishing wonders, all kinds of powerful miracles, and by the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which he distributed as he desired.”

Proceed With Caution
Warning number 1 is found in today’s verses.
The author is warning us to proceed with caution as we go about our busy lives.
Have you ever been in a real busy season of life and rushed through or even skipped your Bible time or quiet prayer time?
Most of us have done that at least once
The danger in doing this is that we can easily drift away from the truth and be deceived with little seemingly innocent lies or worldly ways around us.
Maybe we start to believe that it’s okay to worry because everyone worries a little bit.
Or we think, “I am entitled to complain because it’s just not fair.”
Or it’s okay to gossip. Everyone else is doing it.
Or it’s okay to comfort myself by overindulging in my favorite foods because everyone has a weakness.
You get the point.
It is crucial that we remain engaged with God and His Word(Jesus) so that we do not drift off course.
Our flesh or sin nature is constantly pulling at us to take the easy way out.
We need Jesus and staying engaged with Him takes effort on our part.
He already did His part on the cross.
Now we must choose daily to spend time in prayer and studying His Word so that we don’t fall for the simple schemes of the enemy.
Action Step
What do you need to trust God with today?
Picture bringing your concerns to God and handing them to Him one by one.
Think of a time that God has come through for you in one of these areas.
Now praise Him for it
