Day4
Week8
2 Samuel
”Once again, the Philistines went up and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim. When David inquired of the Lord, He said, “You shall not go up. Circle around behind them and come against them opposite the trees. When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the trees, pay attention, because at that point the Lord is going before you to defeat the army of the Philistines.” So David did just as the Lord commanded, and he defeated the Philistines from Geba as far as Gezer.“

Pay Attention
Have you ever half listened and ended up misunderstanding the story or person you were listening to?
David inquired of the Lord and the Lord said No, don’t go.
What if David would have stopped listening right there?
Has God ever told you No? Did you stay in faith and continue listening?
One thing that David was good at was to pay attention.
He waited on God to give him all the details and then he moved.
Victory in our lives requires that we also pay attention.
Maybe you need to change direction and go around the back, like David.
Maybe you should listen for the sound …
Action Step
Even the Lord’s corrections are filled with kindness.
Ask the Lord to help you pay attention to how He is asking you to grow and give you the courage to change.
