References to horn in scripture refer to strength or victory from oppression.
Hannah sings praises to the Lord, the horn of salvation. We know Him as Jesus! She knew He was coming. She knew He had delivered her and she opened her mouth wide singing His praise and rejoicing for her deliverance!
Hannah spoke boldly against her enemy and called for righteous judgment.
We get to choose what we do with our mouth!
Hannah’s story does not record her defending herself against Penninah.
She spoke up before Elkanah defending her behavior unto the Lord, but there is no evidence that she retaliated against her oppressor, Penninah.
Hannah chose to use her mouth to let her petition be known unto God and to praise Him and declare His coming Kingdom on Earth.
Hannah is surely a woman of great faith and a wonderful example for us all.
Action Step:
Take time out throughout your day to do a self-audit of your mouth.
What are you choosing to
