Day1

1Samuel 28

Week 45

“And it came about in those days, that the Philistines gathered their armies together for war to fight with Israel. And Achish said to David, “Know assuredly that you will go out with me to battle, you and your men.” David said to Achish, “Surely you will know what your servant can do.” And Achish said to David, “Therefore I will appoint you my bodyguard for life.””

Oh What A Tangled Web

Have you ever succumbed to compromise?

Oh what a tangled web David’s decision to take matters into his own hands and flee into the enemy’s territory has weaved.

Deception and compromise weave a sticky web.

Our beloved David seems to have gotten himself into a political mess. At least his non-answer sounds like what a politician would say. “I can neither confirm nor deny.”

When we make decisions based on fear, compromise looks enticing. It becomes easy to make decisions that go against your convictions and rationalize them.

God is faithful and He is always ready to help when we trust Him.

Have you been compromising? Maybe your circumstances have persisted much longer than you expected and you have been tempted to or have taken matters into your own hands?

Even if you have become entangled in a sticky web, the enemies web is no match for God. Simply ask God for help and repent.

God takes what the enemy meant for evil and He turns it for good.

Action Step

Pause! Allow God to open your eyes to see Him more clearly.

Turn your eyes towards Jesus and leave your trials in His hands.

Nothing is to hard for Him.
