Day1
Week 16
Hebrews 12
”As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us.“
Hebrews 12:1 TPT

The Book of Hebrews has 5 Warnings and amidst those 5 a theme emerges.
This week’s scriptures feature that theme; God’s Correction and Discipline.
Obstacle Course
Have you ever participated in an obstacle course race?
Our lives are often compared to running a race. I think that life is more like a marathon, obstacle course. There are unexpected challenges along the way and sometimes it seems at every turn and it can seem like the race is never ending.
I’m sure you have watched at least one western movie with Indians, right?
Remember the wounded cowboy who brakes off the arrow in his arm and keeps on going?
This imagery reminds me of us going through our daily obstacles carrying insecurity, bitterness, unforgiveness, jealousy, envy… just like the broken off arrow, the wounds from these things in our lives make it much harder to overcome the obstacles we face.
The cowboy is bleeding, and is at risk for infection, but he keeps going.
The difference for us is that unlike the cowboy, we have a choice to be well.
The broken arrow is like the beam in our eye that Jesus referred to. It is hard to see the coming obstacles if we can’t see clearly.
Choosing to run your race wounded opens you up to more problems.
Sin is lurking around every obstacle and it rears its ugly head in the form of unbelief and doubting God’s promises.
Festering wounds left unresolved weaken our faith.
Do you have a broken arrow lurking inside you?
(A beam in your eye?)
Action Step
”Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His face continually.“
1 Chronicles 16:11 MEV
God is able to support us when we are weak and strengthen us when we are weary.
Spend a few moments focusing on how strong and powerful He is. Praise Him for it.
Nothing in your life is wasted. As you bring your requests to God, keep this in mind.
God is at work and He is great at healing wounds!
