Nowhere To Run

Day5

Week 8

1 Samuel

“So they sent and gathered together all the Lords of the Philistines, and said, “Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to His own place that He might not kill me and my people,” for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city. The hand of God was very heavy there. The men that did not die were plagued with the tumors. And the cry of the city went up to heaven.”

‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭5‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭MEV‬‬

Nowhere to Run

Three out of the five main cities of the Philistines were plagued with deadly destruction under the heavy hand of God.

Every attempt to move the Ark of the Covenant resulted in great devastation.

There was nowhere to run that God did not snare them.

It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:21

Have you ever moved things around in your life?Maybe changing friend groups or jobs hoping that things would be better only to wind up in a similar situation?

Have you ever tried to ignore making a decision that seemed hard, but you knew it was what God wanted?

There really is nowhere to run.

Except to Jesus!

Psalm 139:9

If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. Even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.

I thank God for His mercy!

It is a wonderful thing to know that because of Jesus, we don’t have to run anymore

Except into His loving arms in surrender

Action Step

Take a moment right now and simply surrender your thoughts, your ambitions, your will to Him and just listen.
