Day5
Week13
1Samuel 9
“Then his servant said to him, “Behold now, there is a man of God in this town, and he is a man held in honor—everything he says is sure to come true. Now, let’s go there. Perhaps he’ll tell us the way we should go.” Then said Saul to his servant, “But look, if we go, what would we bring the man? For the bread is gone from our sacks, and there is nothing to bring to the man of God as a present. What do we have?””
1 Samuel 9:6-7 TLV

Nothing?
Is there someone in your life who encourages you?
Maybe they see a different perspective and inspire you to keep going, to push through.
Saul’s servant was that person for him.
Saul was weary from the seemingly wild goose chase he was on.
The servant encouraged him to try one more thing.
I can imagine how Saul felt when his servant made the suggestion.
He may have thought “You have got to be kidding me! We have been everywhere!”
Sometimes encouragement is annoying. Right? Especially if you are ready to give up, you’re tired, hungry, weary.
Saul’s response was to make an excuse.
I don’t have……!
Does that sound familiar to anyone?
How many times do we focus on what we don’t have?
I don’t have money,
I don’t have time,
……energy….ability….
God said, “I Am.”
There is no lack in Jesus!
If we would focus on what we do have inside us that God has prepared in advance instead of what we don’t have….
Imagine the possibilities.
Action Step
Ask God to open your eyes to what you do have.
Thank that person who has been an encourager for you.
