Day2
Week13
2 Samuel
“Now there was a servant from the house of Saul whose name was Ziba. So they summoned him to David. The king said to him, “Are you Ziba?” He replied, “I am your servant.” The king said, “Is there no one else from the house of Saul to whom I may show the kindness of God?” Ziba responded to the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan who is crippled in both feet.” The king said to him, “Where is he?” Ziba told the king, “He is at the house of Makir the son of Ammiel at Lo Debar.” So King David sent for and brought him from the house of Makir the son of Ammiel, from Lo Debar.”

No Pasture
The Hebrew for Lo Debar means “no pasture”, a place of desolation, isolation and separation.
That kind of says it all for Mephibosheth. He was living out his days in obscurity, maybe even in hiding as it was not uncommon for a new king to kill off any heirs of the deposed king to eliminate any claims to the throne.
Do you feel like you are living in isolation, separation or desolation?
I have good news!
This is another picture of Jesus.
We were all living in Lo Debar, separated from God because of sin. Just like David sent for Mephibosheth, God sent for us!
He sent Jesus to restore us and get back our inheritance.
When we receive Christ Jesus, we receive green pastures and are called into His presence.
Action Step
Have you received Jesus as Lord and Savior?
Read Psalm 23 and think about resting in green pastures with Him.
