Measure Of A Man

Day1

Week21

2 Samuel

“In all of Israel, there was no man as handsome as Absalom. From the sole of his foot to the top of his head, there was not a blemish on him. When he cut the hair of his head (and at the end of every year he cut it, for it was heavy on him), he weighed the hair from his head at two hundred shekels, according to the king’s standard. There were born to Absalom three sons and one daughter whose name was Tamar. She was a beautiful woman.”

Measure Of A Man

It is natural to look at the outside appearance of a person and judge them. God judges the measure of a man from the inside out.

Have you ever judged someone by their appearance?

Absalom was a handsome and charming man. He was cunning as well. As the story unfolds this week, look for areas in yourself that may need some attention. Ask yourself if you behave like Absalom, charmingly deceitful.

The measure of a man or woman needs to be determined by their behavior, not just appearance because one acts in a way that reflects their heart.

Action Step

God, I ask for protection over my heart. I want to be willing to let go of things that are not Your will for me so that I can make room for the things that You do have prepared for me. Guard me from any thoughts, relationships, or beliefs that are not from You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
