Magnify The Lord

Day3

Week4

1 Samuel

“And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife; and said, The Lord yield to thee seed of this woman, for the gift which thou hast given to the Lord. And they went into their place again. Therefore the Lord visited Hannah, and she conceived, and childed three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel was magnified at the Lord.”

Magnify the Lord

We sing a song that says, “Oh, magnify the Lord, for He is worthy to be praised.”

How can we magnify God?

Is He small that we need to look at Him under a microscope or the lens of a magnifying glass?

In verse 21 it says that Samuel was magnified at the Lord.

So, Samuel was made bigger as He looked at the Lord.

He wasn’t literally made bigger other than the natural process of growing up.

His mind or understanding of the greatness of (or size of) God was magnified.

We magnify God by seeing Him through the lens of His faithfulness.

When we see what He has already done, He becomes bigger in our mind.

Our faith becomes magnified.

God doesn’t change.

He isn’t growing.

Our understanding of His greatness needs to be growing and thus magnifying Him.

Let me ask you,

“How big is your God?”

Action Step:

Look up the song,

Magnify the Lord or sing it from memory.

Think about what God has done in the Bible stories and revisit what He has done for you personally.

Do you need a magnifying glass?
