Day4
1Samuel 24
Week 39
“David arose afterward and went out from the cave. And he called after Saul saying, “My Lord the king!” And when Saul looked behind him, David had bowed down with his face to the ground and paid homage. David said to Saul, “Why do you listen to the words of men saying, ‘David seeks your harm’? This day you have seen with your own eyes that the Lord delivered you today into my hand in the cave. So that some said to kill you, but my eye had compassion on you. And I said, ‘I will not put forth my hand against my Lord, for he is anointed of the Lord.’ See, my father! Look at the corner of your robe in my hand. Indeed, I cut off the corner of your robe, but I did not kill you. Observe and see that there is no evil or rebellion in my hand. I have not sinned against you, but you are lying in wait for my life to take it. The Lord will judge between me and you, and the Lord will avenge me on you, but my hand will not be against you.”

Let The Lord Judge
Why do we think that we could figure out the motives of another?
Have you ever been offended and thought or said, “You did that on purpose!”?
The reality is that we can never know someone else’s motives with any certainty.
David didn’t return evil for evil. He decided to let the Lord judge.
Do you trust God? The question seems easy enough, but our actions usually answer it for us.
Is there someone who you have been thinking about and drawing conclusions about?
Let the Lord judge. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (Hebrews 10:30-31)
If we judge others then we are sentencing ourselves to judgment.
What do you want? Judgement or mercy?
I think you will agree that we all need to let the Lord judge, right?
Action Step
Ask God to make you aware when you are drawing conclusions about another, even when you think you know.
Repent and fix your focus on yourself.
Thank God for His mercy.
