Keep It To Yourself

Day3

Week16

1Samuel 10

“And a man from there answered and said, “But who is their father?” Therefore it became a proverb, “Is Saul also among the prophets?” When he had finished prophesying, he came to the high place. And Saul’s uncle said to him and to his servant, “Where did you go?” And he said, “To seek the donkeys. And when we saw that they were nowhere around, we went to Samuel.” Saul’s uncle said, “Please tell me what Samuel said to you.” Saul said to his uncle, “He told us plainly that the donkeys were found.” But the matter of the kingdom, of which Samuel had spoken, he did not mention.”

Keep It To Yourself

We have a tendency to tell everything that’s on our mind.

Do you think Saul was ashamed of what happened to him?

Was he using wisdom in leaving out parts of his story?

It is not always wise to tell all. We must consider who our audience is.

We should always share the Gospel, but as far as what God has told us about our future; it is better to keep it under wraps lest others discourage you.

God gives each of us faith for our mission. Others are not given that same faith to believe for your purpose.

When the timing is right, God will reveal to others publicly what He shared with you in private.

Remember that Samuel was careful to only tell Saul. He wouldn’t even allow his servant to hear.

Action Step

Duct tape anyone?

Let’s work on keeping things to ourselves.

If you need prayer or help; by all means speak up.

I am referring here to individual private things that God tells you about yourself, maybe a dream he inspired inside you.
