Jesus Take The Wheel

A steering wheel.
Jesus Take The Wheel

Day5

Week9

2 Samuel

”David returned to bless his household, but Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet him. She said, “How the king of Israel has dignified himself today, exposing himself this day in the sight of his servant’s slave girls like one of the rabble might shamelessly expose himself.” Then David responded to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me over your father and over everyone in his household, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. I was celebrating before the Lord. I will humble myself even more than this and be abased in my own eyes. But by the maidservants, of whom you have spoken, I will be held in honor.” Michal the daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.“

‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭6‬:‭20‬-‭23‬ ‭MEV‬‬

Jesus Take The Wheel

What have you been thinking about lately?

Are your thoughts steering you towards the ditch or in reverse?

Do you remember the popular song,”Jesus Take The Wheel”?

That is very good advice, but sometimes hard to do. Anyone else have 1 eye on Jesus and 1 finger glued to the steering wheel?

Just as Michal allowed her thoughts to steer her tongue into grave trouble and the death of her womb, we also are in danger of steering our soul into darkness.

David’s heart was filled with humility towards God.

The first step in letting go of control is to fix our thoughts on Jesus by paying close attention to what we are looking at.

It takes a humble heart to actually let Jesus take the wheel.

Action Step

Which step will you take today to let Jesus take the wheel?

  1. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.“

Isaiah‬ ‭26‬:‭3‬ MEV

I will meditate on God’s faithfulness.

  1. Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.“ 1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬-‭18‬ ‭MEV‬

I will choose to look at what God has done for me snd give thanks.

  1. “Who among you by taking thought can add a cubit to his stature.” Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭27‬ ‭MEV‬‬

I will make a list of what thoughts are bothering me right now and talk to God about what’s on the list.
