Day5
1Samuel 25
Week 41
“David answered Abigail, “Praise the Lord, the God of Israel. Praise God for sending you to meet me. God bless you for your good judgment. You kept me from killing innocent people today. As surely as the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, if you hadn’t come quickly to meet me, not one man in Nabal’s family would have lived until tomorrow morning. But the Lord prevented me from hurting you.” Then David accepted Abigail’s gifts. He told her, “Go home in peace. I have listened to your request, and I will do what you asked.””

Interrupted
How well do you handle being interrupted?
Do you respond calmly?
Are you easily agitated?
Maybe you rush through the interruption half listening, so you can get back to what you were doing?
None of us like to be interrupted. It feels inconvenient like somewhat of an intrusion.
What about being interrupted by God?
Sometimes as I read His Word, I notice a certain word that stands out or a phrase. Other times a topic. If I am short of time or have another agenda, I brush it off and even hurry through just to get done, so to speak.

Think about how many times God has interrupted us with a delay or detour in order to keep us from an accident. What about an unexpected visit or call.
God interrupted David to stop Him from doing something that would tarnish His reputation and hinder the call on His life.
God always has our best interest at heart. He is faithful.
Action Step
Are you willing to be interrupted?
Ask God to cause you to notice His interruptions.
Slow down and allow Him to speak to You.
Don’t leave this space until you hear from Him.
