“Now therefore, you will say to My servant David: Thus says the Lord of Hosts: I took you from the pasture, from following after the sheep, to be ruler over My people Israel. I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all of your enemies before you. I will make your name great, like the great ones across the land. Moreover, I will appoint a place for My people Israel. I will plant them, and they will dwell in that very place. They will be restless no longer, and the unjust will no longer oppress them, as in former times, ever since the day in which I appointed judges over My people Israel. I will give you rest from all of your enemies. The Lord declares to you that He will instead bring about a house for you.”

Instead
We serve a God who loves us beyond our understanding.
Today's verses are again a picture of Jesus.
All of our lives we strive for approval, acceptance and love. We are trying to be the best, behave the best and even give the best, but instead God gave His best for us. Jesus.
We could never work our way back to Him, so instead He made a way to live within us through the sacrifice of His only son and then sending Holy Spirit to dwell in us.
God told David that He would instead bring about a house for him. That house was not only David’s household on the throne from generation to generation, but making a way through David’s line to renew our hearts and create a new house or person where He Himself would live with us on the inside of us by the Holy Spirit.
Action Step
Instead of looking at your circumstances, look at the miracle of salvation and spend a few moments thinking about the new creature you are in Christ and be reminded that He dwells in you and you have access to all His power, authority and love.
