Day3
Mark 14:27-31
“Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away and desert me. This will fulfill the prophecy of the Scripture that says: I will strike down the shepherd and all the sheep will scatter. “But after I am risen, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.” Then Peter spoke up and said, “Even if all the rest lose their faith and fall away, I will still be beside you!” Jesus said, “Mark my words, Peter. This very night, before the rooster crows twice a few hours from now, you will deny that you know me three times.” But Peter was insistent and replied emphatically, “I will absolutely not! Under no circumstances will I ever deny you—even if I have to die with you!” And all the others repeated the same thing.”

I Will Not!
It is easy for us to look back at Peter and the other disciples with judgement and laughter.
Consider this though, they just finished a beautiful Passover meal, they sang songs and praised God together, Jesus just washed all their feet…
I feel amazing right after our church service ends. My faith is strong and I can take on the world. Then I get up from my pew!
Casting Crowns sings a song called the alter and the door. https://g.co/kgs/oLvCFu
What happens between your surrender at the alter and your walk to the door?
It amazes me how fast distractions come and my faith wavers before I even leave the building much less sit down to eat. By this time I have trouble recalling what was even preached. Sound familiar?
I might be a little more like Peter than I care to admit. What about you?
Thank You God for Your Mercy!
