Hustle Bustle

Day2

1Samuel 21

Week 36

“David said to Ahimelek, “Is there not a spear or a sword here at hand? For neither my sword nor my weapons did I bring with me, because the king’s business was urgent.” The priest said, “The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom you struck down in the Valley of Elah, is here, wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod. If you will take that, take it. For there is none other but that here.” And David said, “There is none like it. Give it me.””

Hustle Bustle

Are you in a hurry?

Do you find yourself rushing through life from task to task with your head down, plowing full speed ahead ?

The other day, my husband and I took a day trip for a follow up doctor visit and to see a friend who was in the hospital. On the way home we decided to stop at an outlet mall and look for some running shoes for me.

We found ourselves rushing from store to store. There was no time crunch. We didn’t have to be anywhere, but nevertheless we were caught up in the hustle bustle pace that has become the norm for most of society today.

David mentions to the priest that he left quickly without his weapons.

What about you? Do you leave or start your day without your weapons or armor?

Everyday we are in a spiritual battle.

God provided us with a full suit of armor and special weapons.

Do you know where to find yours? If not, read Ephesians 6.

David found a familiar weapon. One that had brought him a great victory in his past.

Are there any victories in your past?

Take a moment and remember the weapons that God used to bring you victory. Maybe a favorite scripture or song. Maybe a season of deliberate prayer or fasting.

The hustle bustle pace that most are living in leaves us unprepared for the battle.

Slow down and take a moment to put on the full armor of God before you head out the door.
