Hurry Up

Day2

Week30

2 Samuel

“Then the king said to Amasa, “Summon for me the men of Judah in three days, then present yourself here.” So Amasa went to summon Judah, but he delayed beyond the deadline determined for him. So David said to Abishai, “Now Sheba the son of Bichri will cause more harm for us than Absalom. You take your Lord’s servants and pursue after him. Otherwise, he will find fortified cities and escape from our sight.””

‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭20‬:‭4‬-‭6‬ ‭MEV‬‬

Hurry Up

Have you ever procrastinated a task?

The situation for David was urgent and he basically told the commander of his troops to go get help and hurry up.

Sometimes it is difficult to see the urgency in a situation when you are not in charge. Your perspective is different.

Has Holy Spirit been nudging you to read your Bible , pray for someone or give a special offering?

It is imperative that we act when prompted. When we delay or procrastinate, we are actually choosing to give place to the devil in our lives. The decision to delay makes room for distractions and even the root of disobedience and rebellion.

Again, it is difficult to see the urgency from our earthly perspective, but Holy Spirit doesn’t move without cause.

We must learn to hurry up and obey His instructions no matter how minor they may seem.

Someone’s life may be in the balance waiting on the other side of your obedience.

Action Step

Pay close attention to your thoughts. 💭

If you have had a thought or idea to do something good for others, it is probably the Lord.

If you have thought about reading your Bible, it is the Lord.

If you have had someone come to mind randomly, pray for them.

I think you get the idea.

These are all things that Holy Spirit uses to teach us His voice.

Are you tuned in?
